Acting locally
Everyone seems to treat their home market as the place for the weridest business experiments. The playground to start off, improve, and then shoot off globally.
On the outset this seems to implement the rule of thinking globally, acting locally but in fact more often than not distorts the thinking throughout so profoundly that in fact globalisation stage of every local business always becomes a plan for the year after.
I’ve seen this mistakes at least dozen times in the making. I have also made this mistake at least once or twice in my life. Even so, makes me think that global stage should be the primary target from day one, otherwise it would always remain the next thing on the horizon that you’d never ever reach.
