Once I’ve worked with the best software development manager ever (Gavin!) and he had introduced me to the “JFDI” methodology, meaning: “Just f*** Do It” in detail. Then he also taught me alternatives, in detail. JFDI methodology still comes back every now and then, is not revolutionary and it always succeeds in failing any project, every time.

On more serious note, most devs don’t know any other methodology, hence its a fallback strategy for most of the teams. We need more chaps to eradicate this approach, otherwise we all soon would be creating just yet another kebab menu websites. Managing software development is about building a house of cards that doesn’t collapse over time – this is the hard part of it.
