Malta is loud
One unsurprising thing about Malta is how incredibly loud it is.
Most of Maltese are traditionally loud. Very loud in fact. Malta is used to shouting, yelling and generally seems that making lot of noise everywhere is acceptable. Like most of Medditerianian countries, people shout at each other across streets, cars honk their horns for whatever reason all day all night. Interestingly, specifically during Summer Fiestas people tend to make loud parades. Summer also brings loud fireworks that tend to go on every other night from early morning, even during the bright daylight. This urge of being loud transposes to phone conversations, office banter and general way of doing things very loudly. Eastern and Northern Europeans can only try to adjust their hearing and try to focus their attention by just trying harder to pick up signal from a noise
