Some quotes are actually inspiring

Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth. For being correct. For being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.

— Ghandi

… And then earlier someone told me this is actually bulls*** because: “the most of the other quotes on Internet tell you you should never speak the truth and focus on what people want to hear instead”… :-) Very distracting but I’m not comfortable with either statement. Here’s why:

You can be right… I’m thinking: being right at the wrong time seems the same as being wrong at right time.

I would never feel punished by words, ignorant or otherwise. I’m not even disappointed when I’ve got this special (albeit rare) feeling of being definitely right (more frequently than not it falls back to basic moral choices) and misunderstood. Sometimes, when you feel so strongly about something, it just all the sudden doesn’t matter what other think, really. No need to argue.

If anything… What gets me is when people disagree, leave, slam the door sometimes… and then come back (later or too late) and say “actually back then you were right”. It’s not a clear fault. Most of the time I didn’t explain it well. Didn’t want to be clear enough, or just wasn’t loud enough with my message… Globe has turned around hundreds of time since then.

This year was like that. I’ve made tons of new relationships but some of them have broken apart. The world didn’t end. Almost all of them, almost with no exceptions, fallen apart because the “right” wasn’t right at the right time… It took months and months for the right time to mutually conclude that the right was right ;-)

Wise friend told me that it’s not about being right at a wrong time, nor intuition, nor a lucky guess, but the sheer ability to believe in some things so strongly that this belief actually bends the reality (also known as self-prophecy)… Egh. Possible, but it’s not always that simple and now is late already and I couldn’t draw a clear line either way…

I guess it’s just a random quote on a wall for me to get distracted now for philosophers to conclude… at the right time… ;-)
